      These rules establish requirements for the construction, alteration, repair, operation, and maintenance of onsite wastewater treatment systems. Their purpose is to restore and maintain the quality of public waters and to protect the public health and general welfare of the people of the State of Oregon. The Public Works Department is committed to serving the residents and visitors of the County to the best of their ability and resources. From the office personnel to the crew members in the field, our goal is to make the roads of Jefferson County safe and acceptable for all who travel upon them and to ensure solid waste is managed in such a way.

      Prior to initiating the sanitary sewer collection system rehabilitation work, the county decided to perform a sanitary sewer evaluation survey. To date, Jefferson County has completed the SSES for approximately 1, miles of sewer pipes manholes.
